About SLOCS

San Luis Obispo Christian School (SLOCS) was established in 1993 by a small group of families from Vineyard Church who gathered together to form a home school co-op. The school met two (2) days a week at a location on Lizzie Street and later became a full-time school and moved to the Family Christian Center in 1997. The school moved to it’s current location at the First Baptist Church of SLO in 2011.

SLOCS has since become an independent, non-profit Christian school; the only non-denominational Christian school in San Luis Obispo. SLOCS offers full-time academics for K-6 grades. The primary purpose of SLOCS is to serve San Luis Obispo and the surrounding area by partnering with parents to raise children with Christian foundations that will last a lifetime and provide them with the highest academic standards available.

SLOCS joins with parents in working together to prepare children for a lifetime of learning and to encourage childrens’ spiritual, intellectual, social, and emotional growth.

SLOCS is a 501(c)3 non-profit ministry, and a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) since 1993. ACSI provides leadership seminars, teacher conferences, teaching resources, SAT test materials, and represents Christian schools in state and national issues. Winners from the SLOCS Speech Meet take part in the annual ACSI Regional Speech Meet when scheduled.
